March 29, 2017 (Fonda, NY) – When John Bruno started his towing business in 1977 he had no idea the heights in which his son Mike would take it after his passing in 1998. Heading into their 40th year of business Bruno’s Towing and Recovery will offer bonus money to any driver who wins King Of Dirt Racing events at Devil’s Bowl Speedway and the series championship.
Mike Bruno the racecar driver knows the importance of earning a little extra after a tireless season of racing. He’s been a NASCAR Busch Series rookie of the year, won championships at Airborne Speedway, and picked up his first Modified win at Albany-Saratoga Speedway back in 1990. Through every step of his career the monetary reward for his performance helped keep his race rod running.
Mike Bruno the promoter knows the who, what, where, and why he’s in the game. The who came in the form of CJ Richards offered Bruno the opportunity to run the Fair Haven, VT facility and he took it. The where was simple; Devil’s Bowl Speedway was his home track and he wanted to take it in a new direction.
What it needed according to Bruno was simple; to continue being a facility people look forward to visiting and enjoy being at when they get there. The why was equally as simple; to simply have fun each week during the summer enjoying racing with friends and family.
Bruno’s Towing and Recovery is a big part of Devil’s Bowl Speedway and will offer bonus money in a unique way in 2017. Any driver in Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman, or Pro Stocks that wins the scheduled King Of Dirt Racing events at Devil’s Bowl Speedway, which also wins the series championship, will earn a $500 cash bonus at the KOD Banquet.
Bruno’s offers full service towing and recovery along with AAA services all over Vermont, New York, New England, and surrounding areas from their two locations in Rutland, VT and Castleton, VT. Also on site are two auto repair shops and a heavy-duty truck repair shop as well.
“It’s an interesting idea Mike had and it adds to the intrigue and reward for the races at Devil’s Bowl this year. Time will tell if a driver can win a KOD race and the title. If they do, Bruno’s Towing and Recovery will have a $500 bonus for them. It’s a neat deal,” said KOD Promoter Rob Hazer.
