October 7, 2017 (Oswego, NY) – Marc Johnson got the party started at Super Dirt Week 2017 as one of the first few cars lined up for Early Bird Inspection day at the Clay Palace. Johnson is the King Of Dirt Racing Small Block Modified champion and leads the ‘Dirty Dozen’ into Oswego for racing’s biggest party.
Marc began his Super Dirt Week in Vernon NY as the King Of Dirt Racing Small Block Modified champion competed at Utica Rome Speedway. The ‘white knight’ had a solid qualifying effort timing 3rd in his heat group and finishing 2nd in the qualifying event. In the feature Johnson mixed it up with some heavy hitters racing for the lead and leading some laps before racing home to a solid 6th place finish.
He then hit the track in Oswego for his first laps on the clay palace during Super Dirt Week where he found himself 18th fastest on the charts at the end of the day. Johnson was looking for more speed during time trials.
During time trials he turned a lap time of 22.510, which is an average speed of 99.956 MPH. That lap time was 13th fastest out of 56 Small Block Modified drivers competing at Super Dirt Week 2017. Marc would start 7th in the first 358 Modified Twin 25 Friday night.
Marc jumped behind the wheel of the Scott Kerwin owned number 7 after feeling under powered in the Johnson Racing 3J. He’d have a spirited battle with Danny Johnson and Billy Decker before settling in for a solid 8th place finish. The KOD 358 Modified champ was in the Great Outdoors RV 150.
Marc Johnson started the Great Outdoors RV 150 for DIRTcar 358 Modifieds making moves.
