October 7, 2017 (Oswego, NY) – Jessey Mueller had the DKM Fabrication Cyclone chassis hauling the mail in Oswego for Super Dirt Week. The ‘heavy hauler’a rocketed up the leader-board posting the 5th overall fastest time during day 1 practice sessions.
Jessey Mueller was a treat to watch compete on the King Of Dirt Racing Small Block Modified tour in 2017. His high, wide, & handsome approach to dirt track racing has earned him the Heavy Hauler nickname. Early on it would appear he was going to have a solid week at racing’s biggest party.
On a much more black and slick track he set out for time trials sliding in at 28th out of 56 drivers. Jessey started 14th in Twin 25 number two on Friday night and sought more speed to get into the Great Outdoors RV 150 without running the LCQ Friday Morning.
Tough breaks were a theme for Mueller’s during his Super Dirt Week campaign. First while chasing down a qualifying spot in the DIRTcar 358 Modified Twin 25’s, he found himself facing the wrong direction after inadvertent contact with a fellow competitor.
He’d look to the LCQ as his last hope of making the Great Outdoors RV 150, but while challenging for a qualifying position the bad luck bug bit once again with fuel pick up problems ending his efforts short. Sadly Jessey did not qualify for the Great Outdoors RV 150.
Despite mechanical failure keeping Jessey Mueller on the sidelines for the Great Outdoors RV 150, team spirits were high after receiving the Area Auto Racing News Best Appearing 358 Modified car and crew.
