2-Time Sportsman King Connor Cleveland Heads To Oswego With Optimism & One Goal; Beat Dave Marcuccilli At Super Dirt Week

October 1, 2018 (Fonda, NY) – Super Dirt Week 2018 is finally here and with it brings an exciting new year of KOD at SDW. The ‘Dirty Dozen’ features drivers from the King Of Dirt Racing tours who are competing at Super Dirt Week. Part one of the Race Pro Weekly exclusive will visit Bobby Varin, Connor Cleveland, Jason Casey, and Marc Johnson who are ready to tackle the ‘clay palace’ during racing’s biggest party. Let’s continue Mondays ‘Dirty Dozen’ PR with the 2-time King Of Dirt Racing Sportsman Modified Champion, Connor Cleveland.

Connor Cleveland is not only a King Of Dirt Racing award-winning driver, but he’s now a 2-time King of the Sportsman division. Since 2016 the Corinth, NY driver has won a championship each season including two tour titles and a track championship. He was on a mission this season, as Cleveland had victory in sights at Mr. Crate Track USA before mechanical failure derailed his efforts. He nearly claimed the Northeast Crate Nationals title back in September before finishing 3rd respectively.

The Dean’s Electrical Service pilot was a model of consistency this season on the KOD tour finishing in the top five an astounding five times in six races. Cleveland won his first series race on June 26, 2015 and led all Sportsman Modified drivers for KOD at SDW last season with an impressive 3rd place finish in the Chevy Performance 75-lap event at Super Dirt Week. His friends might call him ‘kid rocket’ although others call him ‘King Connor’, because he dares to win.

When asked about his outlook on Super Dirt Week heading into this year Cleveland said, “This will be our fourth year going to compete and I’d like to time trial top six this year. We were seventh last year, so I know we’re close. We finished on the podium last year and we’d like to do that again, but the biggest goal we have is to dethrone Dave (Marcuccilli) and show everyone we can beat him at Oswego like we did twice this year at Weedsport.”

With Super Dirt Week officially here this King Of Dirt Racing exclusive through Race Pro Weekly featuring the ‘Dirty Dozen’ continues this afternoon with Pro Stock champion Jason Casey.
