October 2, 2018 (Fonda, NY) – Super Dirt Week 2018 is finally here and with it brings an exciting new year of KOD at SDW. The ‘Dirty Dozen’ features drivers from the King Of Dirt Racing tours who are competing at Super Dirt Week. Part two features Jessey Mueller, Michael Sabia, Jay Casey, and Demetrios Drellos who are ready to tackle the ‘clay palace’ during racing’s biggest party. Let’s keep things going today with Dirt Rush Season 2 star and 2-time Mr. Crate Track USA Champion, Michael Sabia.
Michael Sabia is known as Mr. Excitement for many reasons, which will make him a treat to watch when Dirt Rush Season two is released from Whitney Productions this fall. The King Of Dirt Racing Sportsman Modified tour regular flies under the radar often despite being a 2-time Mr. Crate Track USA Champion and perennial title contender each year for the past four seasons on tour. No matter the situation, whether a win or a wreck, he always seems to wear a smile.
The two-time KOD award winner finished in the top five in points for the fourth consecutive season on tour and has earned seven top five finishes all-time in series events. He’s a member of the ‘Dirty Dozen’ going on his fourth season in a row and would like to take some of that magic with him to tackle the clay palace. Last year he struggled a bit through qualifiers and missed the Chevy Performance 75 by one spot, but still wore his trademark smile.
“We spent five years on the mile getting faster and trying to win during Super Dirt Week. We were fortunate enough to grab a triple 10 qualifying race win at Syracuse, but we’ve come up short for the big show despite some good runs. If we can run in the top five and maybe win that, it would be awesome. I’d like to qualify and run top 15 with my Big Block also,” said Sabia about his outlook for the upcoming Oswego Dirt Week.
With Super Dirt Week officially here this King Of Dirt Racing exclusive through Race Pro Weekly featuring the ‘Dirty Dozen’ continues this afternoon with more from today’s drivers including Jessey Mueller, Michael Sabia, Jay Casey, and Demetrios Drellos.
