October 3, 2018 (Oswego, NY) – Super Dirt Week 2018 is underway for the King Of Dirt Racing ‘Dirty Dozen’ drivers at the clay palace. KOD at SDW is powered by Race Pro Weekly exclusively and features full articles through the digital media giant, however we’ve broken down the news into individual driver info blasts for your reading pleasure. To read full article click the link to Race Pro Weekly below in the comments. We continue today’s part 3 with KOD Sportsman tour winner and former Hard Charger Award recipient Dave Schilling.
David Schilling is exciting to watch race wherever the 1-800-GOT-JUNK Bicknell pulls in, after all he is called the showstopper. He’s won KOD tour events, challenged for a title, and nearly won the Northeast Crate Nationals, but his eyes widen each year Super Dirt Week rolls around. On the King Of Dirt Racing Sportsman Modified tour he’s a multi-time award winner and now he’s looking to land in victory lane in Oswego.
Schilling had his toughest tour effort this past summer with only one top five and one top 10 due to multiple mechanical failures. At one point he joked, “It’s just nice to finish a race” after his 3rd place run at the track of champions. Despite his struggles the team never quit and found themselves 5th in points by seasons end. He’s hoping to translate some of that good mojo into success at the clay palace.
Schilling spoke about his plans saying, “Last year we were running 6th and our right rear shock broke. This year my goal is to qualify through the heat and get a good starting spot. If we can do that, then I have no doubt I can be competitive up front and race for the win. We’ve had the speed to compete with the best of the best all season long and I don’t see Oswego being any different. It’s the most famed race of the year and I love the atmosphere. I hope we can kick some ass and take home the big check.”
With Super Dirt Week officially here this King Of Dirt Racing exclusive through Race Pro Weekly featuring the ‘Dirty Dozen’ is for your racing enjoyment. We spend a lot of time giving publicity to KOD tour drivers who earned a spot in the ‘Dirty Dozen.’ We hope you’ve enjoyed this three-part driver documentary from King Of Dirt Racing.
