May 2, 2022 – Fair Haven, VT – Overall Points Update: Six different Fastline Performance King Of Dirt Racing competitors earned victories this past weekend including Payton Talbot, Rob Yetman, Cody Mcpherson, Beau Ballard, Alan Fink, and Gary Smith. The weekly points shakeup is real, as tracks open and drivers throw down for the crown early in 2022.
It’s early in the season, so it can’t be stressed enough that if a driver hasn’t had a chance to race yet they are not behind in points. The scoreboard currently shows each KOD driver’s best SINGLE RACE finish. Once all registered drivers have raced once, it will progress to showing their best two races. Progression continues this way until each driver reaches their best 12.
Each week we feature the top three KOD competitors from the weekend during the points update. Staring this week off, is South New Berlin, NY driver Payton Talbot. This rising Sportsman Modified star opened the Utica Rome Speedway season with a win driving his Ted’s Body Shop – Precision Hydraulic & Oil number 14T HigFab chassis.
Defending Sportsman Modified champion Cody Mcpherson didn’t waste time making a trip to victory lane in his track title defense. Surely a contender for the crown, McPhearson parked it at Merrittville Speedway driving his Willard Concrete & Trucking – C. Mcpherson Jr. Trucking number 7 Bicknell chassis.
Our third and final featured driver is actually a pair of Pro Stock aces. Multi-time champion and Dirt Week winner Rob Yetman is red hot at Albany-Saratoga winning early in his Lazzaro’s Auto Body number 7 JACR chassis and Beau Ballard opened his title defense at Utica Rome Speedway with a win driving his Pizza Plus – Kimble Mechanical number 15 Manimal chassis.
