Michael Arnold Claims Victory At Malta; Parodi and Dufel Improve Position After Weekend Racing Action

May 3, 2022 – Fair Haven, VT – Limited Sportsman Points Update (Mark Brown Photo): Safe to say the weekly points shake up effects the Limited Sportsman drivers just the same. Michael Arnold was the sole Limited driver to score a victory this past weekend, while Mike Parodi and Zach Dufel led multiple drivers to improve their position on the scoreboard.

It’s early in the season, so it can’t be stressed enough that if a driver hasn’t had a chance to race yet they are not behind in points. The scoreboard currently shows each KOD driver’s best SINGLE RACE finish. Once all registered drivers have raced once, it will progress until each driver reaches their best 12. Devil’s Bowl and Can-Am are scheduled to get underway this week.

Each week we feature the top three KOD Limited Sportsman competitors from the weekend during the points update. We’re starting with a true open wheel rookie, Michael Arnold. He was confident he might visit victory lane, but not this soon in the season. He won Friday night at Malta with his Roberts Towing – BPI Piping number 76 DKM Cyclone chassis.

Mike Parodi raced his way to a 6th place finish at the great race place climbing to 6th in the point standings. Parodi has a pair of top ten finishes to his credit now driving his Billington Plumbing and Heating – Saratoga Masonry number 30 Bicknell chassis.

Our third and final featured Limited driver of the week takes us to the Fonda Speedway where rookie hot shoe Zach Dufel turned in an impressive run finishing 3rd after a tough opening week. He climbed to 7th on the scoreboard driving his Miracle Ear – Pro-Tech Scale Services number 1H Bicknell chassis.

LIMITED SPORTSMAN KOD NOTES: Other drivers to show improvement this past weekend was Ron Delease Jr. and Walter Cook who both had solid runs at Malta. Devil’s Bowl Speedway and Can-Am Speedway are set to get their seasons started this coming race weekend for Limited Sportsman drivers registered. Currently 16 drivers are on the scoreboard with 18 more still to earn their first feature finish in 2022.
